Adolescent Therapy

for Nashville TN and the Surrounding Areas

Helping your teen successfully move through the adolescent years with confidence.

Being an adolescent in today’s world comes with a host of problems that previous generations did not have to face. As a parent, you want to see your teen successfully launch into adulthood with all of the tools, skills, knowledge and confidence that is vital to surviving in our chaotic world.

It feels as if your teen has distanced themselves from you and you are worried about how much time they are spending on their phone, in their room, and isolated from others

When you’ve tried to talk to them, they shut down, lash out, or dismiss your concerns. You are at a loss with how to parent your teen and need support from a place you can trust and depend on

We can help

At Replenish Counseling we provide specialized teen therapy in the Nashville area to help you and your teen navigate this challenging season of life.

We strive to create a space for your adolescent to feel valued and listened to while also equipping them with the tools and skills they need to navigate difficult feelings, relationships, and adjustment periods.

Customized One-On-One Counseling for Teens Adolescent

Teen Counseling Nashville, TN

Our mission is to help your teen decrease feelings of anxiety, loneliness, and depression- and help instill feelings of empowerment, resiliency, and positive self-worth.

At Replenish Counseling, we work hard to create an environment where teens can show up exactly as they are, and help them find ways to stop harmful thinking or behavior patterns.

We do this through speaking their language. We love to utilize creative and expressive therapies-based approaches; because not all teens are great at putting words to their feelings and experiences.

We love to utilize:

  • Music
  • Art
  • Journaling
  • Sand Tray Therapy
  • Walk and Talk Therapy
  • Animal Assisted Therapy
  • Yoga
  • Board Game
  • Sports

These tools are first used to help teens feel comfortable in opening up, and from there, increase their ability to be self-aware, self-reflective, and communicate their thoughts and feelings into words.

This increase in self-awareness is then used to help teens become intentional around the choices they make, the relationships they grow, and the way they respond to their environment. We seek to help teens live a life driven by their personal values, and not a life driven by impulse and reaction.

The main therapeutic models we work from with our teens are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Self-Compassion Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Approaches.

Common Goals in Adolescent Counseling

Anslie Playing Board Games, Nashville, TN, Replenish Her Counseling

Our Commitment to you, the parent/care provider.

We do not believe that adolescent change can most effectively happen solely between the teen and therapist alone. For a teen to thrive, it takes both the shaping of their internal world, as well as their external world (family, school, friends).

It is a priority for us to ensure our teens feel that their space is respected and private. But we also create transparency to our teens, that we strive to keep a communication line open with our parents/care providers in order to best support their therapeutic goals.

We place an emphasis on joining parents of our teens in a collaborative approach.

This collaboration looks like:

  • Parenting Intakes for clients that are 15 or younger. These intakes occur at the very first appointment between parent and the assigned teen clinician. Click here to learn more about what happens at this appointment.
  • Joint Parenting/Teen Intakes for clients that are 16 and older. Click here to learn more about what happens at this appointment.
  • Pre-Scheduled Parenting check-ins via phone to provide updates on therapeutic progress for teen.
  • Full 50-minute parenting sessions to provide updates and action planning for continued teen treatment.
  • Parenting Workshops that provide information for parents around adolescent development and attachment, to help support the individual therapy work. Click here to learn more about this.
  • Individual Counseling Support for Parents. Click here to learn more about this.
