Helping individuals from all walks of life to show up as their authentic selves.

You might be looking at this page for your child, and it is breaking your heart to see your adventurous and confident child move into their teen years feeling rejected by others and out of place. You want to help, but you are not sure how.

Maybe you are looking at this page for yourself. You are looking for an office where you can feel safe, with a therapist that will see all parts of you, not just focus on or ignore different aspects of who you are.

Maybe you are looking at this page because you are looking for couples therapy or family therapy that will honor your experiences, however confusing, difficult, or challenging it may be.

Maybe you are looking because you want to know more about if we will be accepting of those that reach out to us no matter what their values and beliefs might be.

We can help

At Replenish Counseling we know that working with the LGBTQIA population is a unique form of therapy. We are often navigating conflicting cultural messages, discrimination, complex family dynamics, and religious confusion. At the same time, this population is also navigating many of the same struggles as everyone else.

This is why establishing a therapeutic environment that fosters comfort is incredibly important. We seek to create a space that is devoid of expectations and judgments, allowing individuals to show up as their full selves, whoever that may be. There is no “right” way to exist, and our goal is to help clients figure out how to live life in the ways that are best for them.

Our therapists use many different approaches, including art, music, board games, sandtray, role playing games, animal assisted therapy, and traditional talk therapy. While our different therapists have different specialties, we are always approaching care through the lens: “what is best for this particular client?”

Let’s talk about Language

Why does Replenish Counseling use gender binary language?

When Replenish Counseling started (as Replenish Her Counseling), it was a solo practitioner whose primary focus was women’s issues. While we have always seen people of all genders, and always been fully LGBTQIA+ affirming, the original mission was focused primarily on women.

As we have grown, we have been able to widen our scope. The need for counselors focused and educated in women’s issues has not changed, however we are also able to provide specialized services for males, couples, families, and gender-expansive individuals.

We use binary language because many people (cisgender and otherwise) identify with a specific gender. Our mission is not to tell people who they should be, or to push our values, but to accept everyone as they are and support people in the journeys that are right for them.

We love to utilize:

  • Body Movement
  • Sand Tray Therapy
  • Board Games
  • Animal Assisted Therapy
  • Role Playing Dice Games
  • Sports
  • Music
  • Art
  • Journaling
  • Yoga

These tools are first used to help individuals feel comfortable in opening up, and from there, increase their ability to be self-aware, self-reflective, and communicate their thoughts and feelings into words.

This increase in self-awareness is then used to help individuals become intentional around the choices they make, the relationships they grow, and the way they respond to their environment. We seek to help individuals live a life driven by their personal values, and not a life driven by impulse and reaction.

The main therapeutic models we work from with our clients are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Self-Compassion Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Approaches.
